It is operated by the School of Electrical Engineering. MIDAS encompasses state of the art laboratories for micro- and nano electronics, photonics, Integrated Circuits Lab, space systems, robotics and autonomous systems, as well as a wide range of communications engineering and networking facilities, including anechoic chambers and next-generation test networks. Aalto University’s full-scale xG cellular test network — a part of national FUWIRI lighthouse infrastructure— is also integrated within MIDAS. MIDAS supports diverse research groups and topics, offering capabilities from nanoelectronics devices up to large-scale mobile networks, and covering frequencies from DC to THz range.
