Agilent Multidetector GPC system is specially designed for GPC/SEC analysis. Infinity 1260 quaternary pump is capable for gradient elution with flow rate 0,05-5 ml/min and operating pressure up to 600 bar. Autosampler for 100 sample vials with thermostat settable from 4 °C to 40 °C. Column oven holds up to three 30 cm columns and go 10 °C below ambient to 80 °C. Detection setup with concentration detectors (refractive index and UV), dual angle light scattering and viscometer. The Agilent GPC software can be used for calculating molecular weight distributions.

SEC method for aqueous soluble lignin and oligosaccharides uses alkaline eluent and a series of three Waters Ultrahydrogel columns (which covers mw range 100 – 400 K. Other columns and methods can be used as well.
